Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, known as Tottenham or Spurs, is a professional football club based in Tottenham, London, England. It competes in the Premier League, the highest level of English football. Since April 2019, the team has played its home matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has a capacity of 62,850. This stadium replaced their previous home, White Hart Lane, which was demolished to make room for the new venue. Established in 1882, Tottenham's emblem features a cockerel standing on a football, accompanied by the Latin motto "Audere est Facere" (meaning "to dare is to do"). The club has traditionally worn white shirts and navy blue shorts as their home kit since the 1898–99 season. Their training ground, known as Hotspur Way, is located in Bulls Cross, Enfield. In 1901, Tottenham became the first non-League club to win the FA Cup, a significant achievement since the formation of the Football League in 1888. In the 1960–61 season, they became the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions. In 1963, they also became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition, the European Cup Winners' Cup, after successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962. Additionally, they were the inaugural winners of the UEFA Cup in 1972, making them the first British club to win two major European trophies. From the 1950s to the 2000s, Tottenham collected at least one major trophy in each decade, a feat matched only by Manchester United. In domestic football, Spurs have won two league titles, eight FA Cups, four League Cups, and seven FA Community Shields. In European football, they have won one European Cup Winners' Cup and two UEFA Cups. Tottenham also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018–19 season. The club has a historic rivalry with Arsenal, a nearby club, and their matches against each other are known as the North London derby. ENIC Group has owned Tottenham since 2001. As of 2022, the club's estimated worth was £1.9 billion ($2.35 billion), and it ranked as the ninth-highest-earning football club in the world, with an annual revenue of £442.8 million in 2022.
